Reflection on the Chapters 3, 9, and 10 Presentations

As a person who doesn't like doing presentations in the first place, it's really hard for me to act casual inside while explaining my assignment. I have always grown up to be a shy introvert first, then an energetic extrovert once you get to know me better as a person. Maybe you don't see me like that because I'm usually a quiet person, but seeing everyone trying their hardest in their work motivates me to express myself more as an individual. I genuinely enjoyed everyone's presentation in the class. Everyone was formal and meaningful about their topics in the chapter, with some niche things that I will explain in the paragraphs. Without further ado, this is my blog detailing our class presentations of Chapters 3, 9, and 10.

Chapter 3 Group:

In the case of my group, they were pretty laid back about it and presented it in their own ways. I like Britney's lecture especially since she added her own little mix into it, putting in pictures of K-Pop singers as an example of Masculinity/Femininity. She's spoken a bit about it in our group chat so it was nice to see that people even incorporated their own hobbies as a part of the presentation. I also love that some people even made their slides more eye-friendly and read from notes that they had with themselves. Sure, it was a part of the assignment but the thing that made it feel genuine was the fact that they had notes on hand. Not reading word to word from the board like how most people do. But one thing that I still regret is not having the audio working at the time when I was sharing my screen. I used to have Chrome as my daily driver for my browser but it ended up eating so much of my memory (RAM), so I had to resort to using Firefox. But overall, I liked working with this group and their presentations.

Chapter 9 Group:

This group was very professional and straight to the point. Not once did I ever get confused about a topic of discussion that they were lecturing us in. There was literally no one I can choose from this group because all of them did equally as good. Their slides were super simple in terms of templates, only having the required text and a handful of pictures. I will admit though, some people were reading off the slides but I don't mind it much if it isn't the entire group. And plus, if I do come off as sounding mean there, it means it's just my criticism and opinion on things so take that with a grain of salt if you shall. But in the end, they were a good group working together and got everything right with the Chapter.

Chapter 10 Group:

This group was very informational and that's no joke. Probably more than what I would write in some slides but they ended up summarizing the whole thing together. Lots of different templates all around which gives it a much variety between people. Derek's presentation was really good in my personal opinion. Wasn't that hard to keep up with, explained it in their own way, the sub-topic that he was talking about was really interesting, etc. And that could be said with anyone in this group, providing a large number of details in their subjects and that's what makes a presentation stand out very well. Amazing group overall.

Conclusion:

Every group presentation has to have coordination, focus, and easy to understand slides for it to be considered good. As I've said in the beginning; every single group and person did well in my eyes. They tried their hardest in wanting to get that easy grade, even if some people didn't try as much as others. But it was just a simple lecture about the chapters, with people split up to explain different sub-categories of what they choose. And honestly, it made me a little more comfortable with group presentations in general. Working with other people again made me learn that it isn't as bad as I think it will be, and helped me push aside a barrier for myself as a student. In conclusion, this was a fun assignment to work on.
